First-time home buyers will always have a soft spot in my heart. When a buyer is so happy they jump for joy or shed a tear as the keys to their own piece of the American dream is handed to them, that is a reward that is hard to top.
But I did have a seller who through an unfortunate circumstances found himself in a very tough situation with the house I had helped him purchase less than a year earlier. An illness in the family and needing to move out of state quickly meant we had little time to get the home ready and sold for enough money so he could clear his selling costs and recoup the down payment. But we pulled it off with a quick turnaround on getting someone in to help with the move-out, a good cleaning and staging, and was on the market presenting a beautiful house with showings lined up. We sold it for a great price and the seller was able to cover all of his selling costs and then some! Being able to take all that stress of the seller so he could focus on his family was a feel-good moment for sure.
