A customer had dropped out of his career and moved home to Florida to care for his ailing mother. After several years of dedicating all his time and effort to her, she passed. After removing 3 tractor trailer loads of debris from her property as she was a hoarder he was ready to sell her property. Though it was still in a rough condition, we were able to market the property in a manner that attracted multiple offers and we sold it above list price.
Following the sale I was able to assist this same seller as he purchased a new home for himself. His cash was restricted to the proceeds from the previous sale which put him in competition with many other buyers for suitable homes. After some work we were able to locate a great home for him but ended up bidding against 2 other buyers for the home in the first 24 hrs it was on the market. Along with the offer paperwork, I wrote a letter on his behalf as the buyer explaining to the seller why his offer was limited to the amount it was and how he couldn't qualify for a loan since he had sacrificed his work history to move in and care for his mother. The seller accepted his offer over both other offers one of them being at a higher price than his, as she was empathetic to his situation and saw value in his willingness to give of himself to care for his Mom. Stuff like this helps me know that what I do really matters to others.
