I was the listing agent. We received 9 offers on this home in January 2022. A condition of the sale was that the seller was able to retain occupancy for 30 days post closing, maintaining property as it was and keeping all utilities & insurance in place. The buyer had a complete melt down just prior to closing after speaking with an attorney about the extended occupancy. It seemed likely that the buyer was possibly going to back out of the contract within only 4 days left to close, simply out of fear of the extended occupancy by the sellers. I advised my sellers to get moved out and close as contracted. Within 2 hours I secured for them: an AirBnB allowing dogs, Moving pods, picked up 35 moving boxes from a previous client, Movers to get them into the rental, approval to set PODS in the driveway of their newly built home (but not yet completed) and a house cleaner to clean the home they had to move out of in three days. Whew! It was a perfect storm of sudden disaster and the divine working into place very QUICKLY to keep this deal together and close on time!
