I had a client that had been referred to me by a fellow CRS colleague in Estes Park. These seniors planned to move there to be with their children. Throughout the long process, the Estes Realtor and I continually communicated to make adjustments so they had enough to purchase the home in Estes, and also managed to convinced the sellers there to keep a rather lengthy contingency in place. We got their home in Elbert County sold and movers loaded up. Then the Estes floods closed roads, wiped out communications in most of Estes and meant their furniture had to stay on a moving truck. Working with the referring agent in Estes, we were able to establish that their home was still standing and eventually were able to arrange for the movers to use an alternate route to deliver the furniture. Meanwhile, I was arranging for a place to the now-homeless sellers to stay, talking with the moving company to try to arrange discounts, and smoothing feathers all around. This was a great example of two CRS Realtors cooperating to the max to assist their clients - even to giving up part compensation to make the whole situation work for the buyers. We both walked away with big smiles, knowing we had REALLY gone beyond what was expected and helped wonderful folks achieve their objectives.
